Kea, despite being the closest of the Cyclades Islands to Athens, is almost unknown to tourists. A popular island with Athenians who flock here in August and Easter, mostly to their villas, Kea has the feel of a more remote island. The village of Ioulida is one of the most impressive in the Cyclades and there are a number of beautiful beaches scattered
around the island. It is only an hour from the port of Lavrion which is less than an hour from Venizelos
airport
so for people who don't like to spend a long time on ferry boats, Kea is a great choice.Hotels are
listed beginning with the ones I most recommend. The rest are listed from highest category
to lowest with
villas, apartments, houses and simple rooms last. You can get information on Kea by going to my Kea Guide. A great way to plan your trip is my Create-an-itinerary
page which allows you to put together a custom itinerary with the help of a travel agency with no obligation to book.
