The hotel owners are friendly and the service is excellent. The rooms are clean and well kept and the staff was very informative about what to see on Chios. This is one of the best famioly run hotels that I have stayed at in Greece. I was here in July of 2007 and I would go back tomorrow if I could-Matt |
In the beautiful seaside town of Emporios in the most southern part of Chios Mastika Villages is the Emporios Bay Hotel, one of the best family run hotels on the island. Owned by Elias and Giouli Kampas the hotel has a steady clientele who return year after year. Each room has air-conditioning, private balcony, bathroom, a fully
equipped kitchen and a hairdryer. The hotel has a swimming pool and a small cafe bar where breakfast is served and many people linger through the evening for a drink and conversation with Elias and the other guests or a late night swim. The hotel also has internet and a computer for guests to check their e-mail. 
The town of Emporios has been inhabited since the 6th century BC and is where many of the artifacts in the Chios Archaelogical museum were found. There are several very nice seafood tavernas on the waterfront just a few steps from the hotel and the beach is suitable for swimming. But just a 5 minute walk over a small hill brings
you to the two best beaches in Chios at Mavra Volia with black pebbles that make you think you are on Santorini and clean seas that make you think you are in paradise.|
