 The
Ellinon Thea Hotel is an A Catagory hotel in Firostafani, just 500 meters from
the town of Thira. A brand new property (first year of operation 2006), Ellinon
Thea (it means “view of the Greeks”) is a charming little complex (9 rooms only)
run by a very friendly and hospitable family. The complex is built on street
level but not on the main road – so no endless flights of steps to climb – but
still enjoys a splendid view of the sea and the volcano.

There
are two types of units, studios and maisonettes. All units (named after the 9
Musses) have bathroom with shower, private balcony, Jacuzzi (indoor or outdoor),
mini bar, A/C, DVD player, telephone, Internet connection, safe deposit box,
satellite TV with 4 international channels and Filmnet, bathrobes and slippers.
The studios are on the ground floor, are open plan, with one double bed and a
sofa bed that is easily converted into a comfortable extra bed. The maisonettes
are on the second floor and have two levels: on the upper level is the bedroom
with one double bed and on the lower level is the living area with the sofa
beds. Thalia, Urania and Melpomene have 2 bathrooms with shower. Terpsichore has
one bathroom and one WC. General facilities include a very well equipped gym and
a steam room (hamam). The breakfast is served in the room at the hour designated
by the guests and includes a long list (30 in total) of items. The guests are
given the list from the day before and they can choose every day what they would
like to have for breakfast.|
