If you have children who want to have fun while you have some time to yourselves the PORTO ELOUNDA DE LUXE RESORT would be the ideal solution, combining discreet luxury with plenty of recreational opportunities including a children's club.

The hotel is built next to Hotel Elounda Mare and shares its extensive grounds with 'The Peninsula'.  It has 97 rooms (single and twin) and 9 suites in the main building, some of which have direct access to one of five large swimming pools running the length of the building and reserved for these rooms only.  In addition there are 34 waterfront bungalows (five with a private pool) and 20 one, two and three bedroom villas with a spacious living room bar and indoor and outdoor dining area and a private garden and pool that gives them the air of a private holiday house. There is one presidential two-bedroom suite with a private garden and pool.  All rooms, bungalows and villas have marble bathrooms and are airconditioned and equipped with mini-bar, satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, safe and hairdryer. All bungalows and villas face the sea and their pools are filled with seawater. 

PORTO ELOUNDA DE LUXE RESORT has a bar with piano music and a beach bar where guests can enjoy drinks and snacks.  Two restaurants serve buffet-breakfast and table d'hote dinner.  The 'Elies' a la carte restaurant specialises in Greek and Cretan food for dinner (May - October) and the 'Odysseus' taverna serves fresh seafood and tempting Greek dishes for lunch at the water's edge (May - October).   

If you are a golfer then this is the ideal hotel for you as it is the only resort with a golf course in Crete.  If you are already an expert you can practice your swing on the nine-hole par-3 course where multiple tees create the impression of an 18-hole course since every hole has two playing options and if you're a beginner you may take advantage of the private lessons organised by the Golf Academy.  The complex also has practice nets, a driving range, a bunker and a nine-hole putting green as well as a pro shop. 

If you prefer the sea, you can spend your morning water skiing, sailing or windsurfing at the sea sports centre with its experienced coaches and sophisticated equipment and try your hand at scuba diving organised by an internationally certified centre or charter a yacht for a day's private cruise.

A miniature Greek village square has been created behind the long sandy beach of the hotel with a shopping alley, art gallery and an Orthodox chapel dedicated to Prophet Elias. 

The recreational facilities of PORTO ELOUNDA DE LUXE RESORT include a large outdoor fresh water swimming pool with children's paddling pool near the sea, two tennis courts with instructor and a gymnasium with a variety of fitness equipment.  To relax and rejuvenate the body, there is a health spa with an impressive heated indoor swiming pool, original Finnish sauna and authentic marble Turkish bath, and a beauty centre with massage and hairdresser.

A cheerful children's club,the 'Children's Ark' provides a stimulating environment for the young in both indoor and outdoor playgrounds especially designed to protect them from over-exposure to the sun.  They can learn how to grow vegetables in the vegetable garden, plant olive, carob, lemon, orange and fig trees and splash around in two shallow pools while being carefully supervised.  Other activities include play acting, ceramics, batik, drawing, creating dolls and masks, mini Olympic and other games, a treasure hunt and even simple Greek cooking lessons.  It is open 6 days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed on Sundays).

The hotel has meeting and banquet rooms with a capacity of upto 250 persons.
